Oregonians take trick or treating seriously, purchasing tens of thousands of pounds of candy each Halloween Season, and 2017 is no different. But there's one candy that seems to stand above the rest in the Beaver State, outpacing the number 2 candy by over 23 TONS in terms of popularity & sales.
According to CandyStore.com's annual Halloween Popular Candy Study, Reese's Cups are THE candy choice of trick or treaters in Oregon, with 90,826 pounds being sold so far this year. The second most popular candy for the state is M&Ms, which still sold an impressive 67,626 pounds, and rounding out the top three is Tootsie Pops, weighing in at 42,774 pounds of sales.
While candy choices for trick or treaters can seem overwhelming, it looks like Oregon sticks to the tried and true favorites of the season, ensuring happy trick or treaters on Halloween night.
