Swamp Night-Mares!
OregonHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Tim Devlaeminck of Fearlandia, to discuss what's new at Fearlandia for the 2017 Halloween Season! Located in Tigard, Fearlandia offers two haunted attractions at one scary-good location for thrill seekers to brave!
What's new at Fearlandia for 2017? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
We've changed Clown Chaos to Clone Retirement. This 3-D attraction is filled with twisted illusions. Added this year is the dark and creepy, crawl under your skin, Swamp Nightmares. Our q-line has been redesigned to bring you entertainment while you wait.
What are you most excited about for the 2017 Halloween Season?
Our attraction feels bigger and scarier. We've done a lot of upgrades improvements.
What differentiates Fearlandia from other local haunts in Oregon?
We have professional actors from the Portland Metro area that are highly skilled and bring an atmosphere that's sure to be remembered.
How long has Fearlandia been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Fearlandia's history?
2 years. 10+ as a home haunter!
What's your favorite experience since opening Fearlandia?
Meeting and working with the actors. They really bring our work to life.
How long is a typical haunt experience at Fearlandia from start to finish?
15 minutes.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Fearlandia is? Why?
8, I would say 20% can't make it through 2 rooms and only a few under the age of 16 have made it all the way through.
Does Fearlandia's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?
This old lumber yard. Next to the railroad tracks just has an eerie feeling.
What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?
Ran out of room in the front yard!
How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Fearlandia?
Low-voltage LED's have made it really easy to control lighting and lower the cost.
Can Fearlandia accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Fearlandia together as a group?
We'll take any group that would like to come! We typically separate for entry into 2 or 3 at a time.
Does Fearlandia offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?
For the first time, Fearlandia is hosting a FearHunger Drive, benefiting the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division. Bring a non-perishable item to Fearlandia on October 19th for a reduced entry fee.*
